Mini Concentration Project

The central idea of my concentration will be that for one to really take advantage of their life then they must go outside and explore nature, which exists everywhere. For this idea, I will draw with pencil many different viewpoints of a park to show that jus walking outside isn’t enjoying nature; one has to investigate it to really learn from it. With pencil, I will create very realistic drawings of grass, leaves, trees, a playground, and the sky. All of these pieces will focus on portraying nature in a positive and interesting manner. To contrast this idea I might want to dedicate to portraying the idea that to stay indoors is boring and isn’t living life. To do this I might draw a dark room or house that is old and is beaten up. This way one who see’s my concentration will understand that to be outside is to live an interesting life. For my artwork, I am choosing pencil because I believe that I can really show the texture and realness of an object with pencil. When I looked online, I found the works of an artist named David Adams. In his work, he focused on drawing from up close especially on insects or bugs that are resting on a piece of grass or leaf. I like hit work because it really shows the shadow and texture of the leaves and also the insects. In my concentration I would like to accomplish the same thing except of course the inclusion of life. I would also like the audience to understand that I am not trying to make them think that staying inside is bad and outside is good, but I am trying to get them to realize that one can learn more when they are around nature.

Web quest Artist

Francis Bacon - I like this portrait of his because it very strange. It is almost somewhat scary looking based on the colors and the beings facial expression. It is disturbing to look at but I respect the artist because he did something very out of the ordinary in this artwork. He portrays a naked being, but portrays him very oddly. I like this artist because of how different his artworks are.

Chris Doyle - He is very well known for his photography. In this picture a women is portrayed with lots of red coloring and leaves. I like this picture very much because of the difference of the colors. On the outside of the picture it is very dark and unknown. Then in the middle there is a very bright red which is covering the woman.

Frida Kahlo - Usually women are portrayed of being beautiful, but in this art work I do no see this. To me this is very different and the background makes this artwork have a specific meaning.
